Events and Networking Opportunities

Maryland AIR offers three main signature events including:

• Spring Symposium (usually in late April): The Spring Institute is a combination of networking and an opportunity to learn about the research and practices at other institutions in the network. The theme is intentionally open enough to allow for showcasing innovative practices and new research going on at institutions. This event is typically held in late April. If you are interested in hosting the Spring Institute, please see a member of the Board. This event is typically a full day from morning to mid-afternoon.
• Summer Enrichment Series (usually in early August): The Summer Enrichment Series offers an opportunity to engage with colleagues around a specific topic and/or book of interest. The Summer Enrichment Series is typically in early August. If you are interested in hosting the Spring Institute, please see a member of the Board. This event is typically a half-day engagement.
• Annual Fall Conference and Business Meeting (usually in late October): The Fall Conference offers a combination of innovative sessions from members, legislative and policy updates from state representatives, networking opportunities, and also includes the annual business meeting, required in the Bylaws for MdAIR. This is the time of year that we also announce the incoming Board members who begin their work on January 1. This event is typically a full day from morning to mid-afternoon.

We seek to host events across the state to accommodate colleagues and to experience other campuses. If your institution is interested in hosting one of our events, please reach out to a board member, or send an email to the MdAIR organizational email (MarylandAIR01@gmail.com) and a Board member will reach out to you with additional information on how to move forward. Generally, we seek help from interested institutions to reserve rooms, but we handle the rest!
